Bella Slaughter

It is with much sadness and extremely broken hearts that we acknowledge that our beautiful girl has left us. After discovering cancer on July 14, 2025 she succumbed to the illness September 25. She was happy until the end.

She was a gift from above. Bella was a puppy mom at Doosouth kennels in campobello sc. She had six litters and made lots of folks happy with her kids. Our daughter and her family have one. Bella was retired in 2021 and we were lucky to be chosen as her forever family. We picked her up labor day weekend 2021at the age of seven. She was almost eleven when she passed. We were all very happy in those four years. She adjusted from the busy kennel to a much quieter life.

She was a wonderful companion and loved to travel with us. She went to the NC mountains many times. She traveled to many beaches also. She loved sand as well as snow. She loved walks around our pond and was always quietly curious about things. She was close to both of us but more so with mom. She was spoiled but also spoiled us always greeting you with a happy tail and stuffed toy in her mouth. Everywhere we went people wanted to pet her. She always made us feel special.

She did not like thunderstorms or fireworks. She would get on the couch with her mom for consoling. She loved picnics and the outside deck of an out of the way restaurant. She knew she would get people food. A favorite was Mellow Mushroom in Asheville NC.

Now that she is not here the house is eerily quiet. She hardly ever made a sound except her toenails on the hardwood floor. Bella was such a sweet girl and as gentle a being as there ever was. We are so grateful and our hearts are full of happy memories of four years with this wonderful little girl. She is missed so much but she will be with us always and everywhere.
